ETM provided design and permitting services for this new, 3,700’ extension of Old Kings Road, between Forest Grove Drive and Matanzas Woods Parkway. This new roadway provides Flagler County residents with a much-needed connection to the Matanzas Wood Parkway / I-95 interchange.
The project utilizes an urban 4-lane divided roadway typical section and includes sidewalks and intensive landscaping. Stormwater is collected by curb inlets and routed to wet detention ponds for treatment and attenuation.
ETM permitted the project with the St. Johns River Water Management District and the US Army Corps of Engineers and provided coordination with multiple stakeholders, including the City of Palm Coast, the Florida Department of Transportation and residents.
ETM also designed an additional extension for Old Kings Road, between Matanzas Woods Parkway and the existing Old Kings Road. When constructed, this roadway will provide for an interim 2-lane divided urban arterial within a 4-lane divided urban right-of-way.
