Moderate to Large Drainage Projects

Client: City of Jacksonville

The New Town area has experienced flooding problems for many years, and previous efforts by others have not identified an effective solution. ETM reviewed numerous previous studies, supplemented with additional and current information to assess conceptual solutions that may be available to move the project forward and provide drainage relief to the impacted areas. A key factor in developing solutions is the lack of available acreage to develop ponds for traditional drainage solutions.

Previous efforts through 2015 have been inhibited by two primary issues:

  1. No available pond parcels of sufficient size, and the project area has a drainage divide potentially requiring two ponds
  2. A large undersized Brick outfall pipe which is in poor condition and runs through private property requiring a sufficient easement/access to repair/replace.

ETM is providing engineering and contract administration services.
