Castaway Island Preserve

Client: City of Jacksonville

Castaway Island Preserve is a 311-acre intracoastal interpretive center designed for public access and environmental education. This Jacksonville property conserves salt marshes, upland hardwood forests, wetland flatwood forests, and pine flatwood islands. The preserve features an instructional pavilion, picnic areas, pier, island trail, additional boardwalk trail, and an overlook pavilion. Our firm was thrilled to provide master planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, construction administration, and grant administrative services for this project.

In June of 2005, ETM was presented the Florida Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects Award of Honor for our role in this exciting project.
